A friend told me to post this. It explains lots of things about elemental things, and will help everyone RP the Element Demon Digimon. These are the compiled ideas of the elements, via the Roman Cosmology and Japanese spiritalism. I hope you enjoy.
Earth, Fire, Water, Air, Void, Darkness, Light these are the "Seven Elements of Existance".
Light and Darkness, can also be called quintessence, its mere pressence causes itself to die out, it is the chaotic essence that is the driving force of the Multiverse, known in the roman cosmology. It is the power of Life and Death.
Void, the non-element, is the signature "Lack of all" that was found by a renowned samurai that lived near the end of the feudal era of japan. Void is a state of nil existance, but yet, it cannot even be classified without the presence of some. Therefore Void is almost constantly portrayed as a vaccum, or Blackhole. Blackholes could be considered consentrated "Void". Also Void is a state of mind that warriors enter when they are facing their last moments of life, one who lives through this experience is forever changed. It is located outside the Elemental Tier, and pulls equaly on all sides. It has no opposites.
Earth, is known as the Mother Element, the Element of Nature, and is also the most non-volitile of the elements. It is also the 3rd hardest to master. Without Earth the circle crumbles losing its foundation, Earth is the 4th element on the Tier. Its opposite is Air.
Water, the Retributive Element is also the Element of Change. Water while one of the easiest elements to master, has the most destructive power, yet also has the highest restorative power. Water is the 3rd element on the Tier, between Air and Earth, seperating opposites. Its opposite is Fire.
Air, the Inquisitive Element, the Element of Prominence. Air embodies the fury of Tornadoes and the gentle zephyrs that cool you on summer nights. It is used mainly as a tool of destruction sadly, Air cannot be used without some sacrifice of quintessence. Mortals should never control this element, therefore it is the 2nd hardest element to master. It Seperates Fire and Water, and resides 2nd on the Tier. Its Opposite is Earth.
Fire, the Raging Element, the Element of Passion. Fire embodies desire in its most primal forms, in all acts of passion . Fire however sustains life, and also PRODUCES quintessence. Fire, however is the easiest element to master, but cannot exisist without the infulence without Air and Earth. Life cannot be sustained without Fire, and therefore it resisdes above the rest. it is the 1st element on the Tier, residing over Air. Its opposite is Water.
Light and Darkness, the quintessence, the elements of Obscurity and Revealing. Light and Darkness exist only in spite of each other, they represent the eternal struggle to survive and maintain in the multiverse. One cannot harbor power over Light or Darkness, but instead controls the amount of both. Light, is the Life-element, the pressence of quintessence. Darkness, is the Death Element is the lack of quintessence. One who masters these Elements controls the AMOUNT of quintessence housed within something.and can take or add it as she pleases. It is the Hardest Element to master, and only gods have the ultimate control over life and death, but trickle some control to those in their service. quintessence is located within and around the Tier of the Elements, and protects it from Void. Light and Darkness's opposites are each other.
