Where does it say that those are the only "true elements"? And where is this "Spirit" translation from? Doesn't sound very Digimonish to me...

That's cuz it's not. According to him, the publically known Four Elements are not the true originals, or whatever, apparently there are five, not four. I know that the public sees: Fire,Wind,Earth and Water as the trademark 'Four Elements', but to him, somehow there is a fifth.

Family: Elemental
Physical Description: Looks like a strange sort of spectre, but is solid. He floats around, not needing legs. Can use the spiky looking effect on the back of his arms like a weapon if he chooses.
Attacks:
Spiritual Gathering: Gathers power from spirit, or any element. Any of the elements, or spirit. Does not have to be touching it for it to work.
Spirit Cannon: Creates a white blast of energy from the power of spirit. Also can do same as the other four elemental versions of this attack.
Spirit Shield: Creats a bubble of energy around himself and any he chooses to put it around using white energy from the power of spirit. Can do same as other elemental versions.
Spirit Power: Has the power to manipulate Elements, including spirit, in any way he sees fit. The four elements and spirit can not harm him ever, and he can do anything he wishes as long as it is with the four elements or spirit.
